Oil for the first 500 miles. I'll switch to Mobil 1 after that.

I use Valvoline VR1 20W-50 with a bottle of Crane Cams break-in additive. Never had a failure.

What we usually recommend for high performance street engines with new P&Cs:
a) first 500miles -- Driven BR Break-In 15W-50 conventional Drain, inspect drain plug and filter element (cut open with cutter or tin snips). b) next 500-1000 miles -- Driven HR Hot-Rod 15W-50 conventional Drain, inspect drain plug and filter element (cut open with cutter or tin snips). c) forever -- synthetic of choice, ex: Driven DT50 Street Performance 15W-50 synthetic Each time we drain the oil, we scrutinize the drain plug and filter element (cut open with cutter or tin snips).

What have you seen with brad penn? I used it. Nice oil pressure but now a bad cam lobe. Is it the oil? No idea. What's your experience?

The second post is by Supertec who's not too happy with Brad Penn.
Break in oil- first 20 minutes- Brad Penn or standard non detergent It would be nice to have a sticky on the turbo forum for oil, break in etc, as it seems to differ from the n/a motors.
