New Scavenge pump harden pin needed

I'm in the process of rebuilding my turbo oil scavenge pump and need to replace the hardened pin. I've found some pins online made out of 01 tool steel but not sure that's what I need or if I need to buy something different. Not my pump but here is a pic for reference.

In his absence I think a drill bit of proper diameter and cut to
length may work.

It is merely a metric dowel pin, nothing special.
If you cannot find one, then a roll pin will work just as well.

Not a good idea, to brittle. Should be more vicious, so they worn rather than break.

Look for bearing needles, they have the desired specs.

C'mon. Drill rod is perfectly fine. There is very little torque req'd to turn the scavenge pump. It's just a liquid mover, there is no discharge head to speak of besides the few inches in the tank.
If it locks up for some reason you want the pin to shear anyway.
