I think silicone sealant would work great. Smear a thin layer on both parts, let it tack up and put them together.

I used black silicone RTV and careful application of masking tape to hold the corners together for the 24 hrs it seems to take to cure.

Trick is to let it tack up before you put the two parts together, you won’t have to hold it together long at all.

That is a factory intercooler that was on the "SE" optioned cars from the 1980s . . . along with other, different components, the SE engine was claimed to make 330hp. If you google 930 SE, or 911 Turbo SE, you will find some info about them.

Wow it’s not often I lean something new about 930s! I’ve seen this intercooler appear on special wishes 930s mostly slant nose 1980 to 1985. However never seemed to have context about it though. This shows parabolica press needs to do a 3.3 turbo book once the 3.0 book is out. I thought the SE was only available in england and was the years 1986 to 1989 only? I know I have seen this very intercooler on early (1980 1985) special wishes slantnose 930. Found it! There is a whole thread back in 2010 devoted to this very intercooler. It was produced from 81 to 89 and was only available on special wishes 930s 81/89 and 930 SE which was sold only in england for only the 1986 to 1989 model years. Is this a factory intercooler?

Hi Guy's
Thanks for the reply's thought there maybe some type of super glue! Mine is a LE, They were brought out to mark what was supposed to be the end of the turbo era (UK) except that later in the 964 program a turbo was added to the lineup again, first as 3.3 then as 3.6. They are basically the SE with Standard Turbo fenders, special (NLA) spoiler, Front oil cooler, rear wheel vents, LSD, 330hp engine from bigger turbo and intercooler (some state different cams but not true). A genuine LE should have a three spoke wheel with a gold logo in the centre, a gold cap on the gear knob and a gold plaque under the centre console, below the aircon knobs. Apparently only one car was allocated to each dealership. ![]() |
