why was my thread moved.

it seems I get singled out here when it comes to posting forsale/WTB threads and I have my suspicions of who does it.

there are 2 for sale threads that were on here before I posted a WTB for a turbo that are still on here after my thread was moved.
are the rules different depending on who makes the post.
everyone should be treated the same.

why was my thread moved.

I don’t mind these threads as 930 parts are particular.

As a 12 year member of this BB aswell as someone who has spent $1000s at pelican parts the past year.

We should let 930 parts be advertised on this forum (930 forum).

I bought my VDO boost gauge that way. I would have never found it either ways.

It wasn't moved by me. And the link does not tell me who moved it.
I asked the question about for sale Ads in the turbo forum; Leaving them was the majority vote so I ignore it.
PM Eric at Pelican he watches this area.

I agree with 930 specific ( 930s were a small part of Porsche production) stuff being on here. Way too much stuff to sift thru unless I need it real bad. Also many parts not being reproduced or available to buy thru Pelican or Porsche etc.

Hmmm, I tried to look around to see who moved it but I have no clue as well.

I still do think it'd be great to have a for sale section for specific gens in particular, as weeding through the entire 911 Used Parts For Sale & Wanted can be quite a headache.

That would be quite helpful since there are so many models within the 911, yet the only parts for sale and wanted section is currently all encompassing under the 911 model.

A 930 section.
A 964 section.
A 993 section.
And so on......

The only difference i can see is that the other guys have made a FS/WTB thread first in the for sale section, then making a post in the 930 specific linking to that thread. That way the 930 post is technically not a FS/WTB post but mere a referral post to the FS/WTB.
It would be no point to move a referral post into the for sale section as it has one already. Could be other reasons of course but this is my best bet

I do agree that there should be a specific for sale section as finding parts for specific models is a lot of work. This has been discussed and suggested before without anything done no?

Having separate classified sections for different models sounds good in theory but might not work too well in practice due to the level of cross over parts between the models. Wheels for a widebody for instance would be hard to categorize.

Maybe so, but there’s still got to be a better way to do it.

Air cooled section...
Water cooled section...
Possibly sub categories within each for turbo and non turbo (NA)

Well, i would think the general section like it is today will remain to post crossover parts and such, but a SPECIFIC area for 930 will contain only 930 parts. That`s how i imagine it atleast. I have a feeling the exposure will drop in those areas but maby you get exposure to the right guys/gals. So many posts get lost or pushed down and never seen because it`s so crowded.
Worth exploring i think.

How about a "Forced Induction Classifieds" and even maybe an EFI specific (turbo and NA alike) Technical sub-forum would be helpful as well.

There are already seperate air cooled and water cooled sections. And 915. And 924/944, etc. there’s just not an AC turbo section.

thanks 79,

I remember the post about posting ads here as it has always been done in the past.
I am one that is usually a bit anal (I bet rawknees will chime in) about using correct forums (I dint usually say anything) but I have always felt the 930 side was a bit special as there is not a lot of activity here anyway and our cars are special and we are kind of a different group so I kind of like seeing 930 parts on the tech side.

no I have not posted or wish to post a lot of parts here, in fact the need for a k27 and maybe the sale of my header may be my only "parts" post I made here.

I don't mind if we don't have parts for sale here, but the rules just need to apply to everyone.

I know there are those sections, that’s not what I was recommending. Those are different models altogether, not the 911. I’m referring to all of the different models that fall under the 911 model.

AC Turbo is all I’m interested in, as well as many others on this forum, which is why it’d be nice if there was its own section for it. I realize it’s not likely to happen, but worth posting nonetheless.
