Mag case in hot tank > no go?

Hi, ive read somewhere not to put mag case (2.7 7R that is) in hot tank. My machine shop said they could lower the temperature of his jet/washer hot tank to minimal.

Is there any danger?
What should be the temp?
Any other way apart elbow grease?

Thanks to all.

That depends on the chemicals used in the hot tank. Some will dissolve Al and Mag parts. If the tank uses water based solvents its probably not a problem. If there is any doubt put a scrap Aluminum part in the hot tank overnight. If its still there the next day and it isn't etched or otherwise visually affected its ok to use.
