Value or Uses of a 1R / 2R Case

For some reason I seem to have acculated a few 1R / 2R engine cases. As these are the first iteration of the magnesium cases found on the 2.0L engines and generally regarded as too weak to do much with, what are my options? Standard rebuild, performance rebuild w/ modifications, boat anchor?

Thanks for any advice!

Regards,
Andrew M

Essentially worthless. I believe that these are the 1969 cases? They didn't have separate bearing supports for the intermediate shafts, and thus wore out quickly. Expensive machining is required to get these back to spec, and the intermediate shafts must be matched to these cases (1969 only).
