Rocker shaft removal bore scratches

When removing my rocker shafts I followed Wayne's book utilizing a 3/8 extension to tap them out. On my number one exhaust and intake shafts I noticed little bits of metal when they were fully removed. Every other shaft came out fine. When looking at the bore that the shaft sits in I see and feel some scratches. What's your thoughts on the bore being scratched (issue)? My thought is to polish it up to smooth it out.
Thanks

My engine builder and myself used a small wire wheel brush from a Dremel kit attached to a long extension from a gun cleaning kit chocked up in a drill to lightly polish those bores, then added the RSR seals on all of the rocker shafts. Worked for me.

They also sell the end caps now for the rocker shafts.

Check to see that the holes are in spec, I'd say that was caused by the rocker shaft being loose and the shaft was pivoting on the housing instead of the rocker bushing.

I did that too. I stupidly didn't remove the bolts and bushings when removing them and scratched a few like this.

I got a soft wire brush on a dill and cleaned it up. Also got some RSR seals and new shafts.

Engine isn't finished yet - so can't report if it has worked just yet.

Duane,

Where do you find the caps that you mention?

Thanks,
Kev

Ok thanks. I was aware of the Turbo Kraft shaft lock kit. I thought there was a just a cap someone makes to plug the end of the cam housing where the end of the shaft is recessed.
