Depending on your compression and using MFI, I would start with an S or Mod S grind.

Mod S grind is very good. Go talk with a cam maker, present your parameters such as RPM range, compression, intake and exhaust sizes, along with other info. They can make good recommendations.Web Cams has treated me well. Remember to mention the MFI. Your injection pump and cams must interact accordingly.

When building any engine, every aspect of the build should be considered before you start selecting parts.
We've built a number of rally engine over the years with many different configurations. We build a series of 3.0 carburetor (PMO) engines for the British 3.0 rally series and one of those engine won the championship. It ran DC62 106 LC.
We also build an MFI European rally engine that used MFI quite successfully. It finish fourth in the Mallorca Rally in it's first event . The majic to that engine is ducumented below.

SUPERTEC VENTI-PORT
--Supertec Venti Port is a new development in Porsche 2 valve porting which allows the customer to change the porting depending on the engine application. The small insert 36mm is great for low end torque (rally and high performance street use) and the larger insert is appropriate for tarmac and road circuits.
Our most resent example of the Venti Port in use in a 3.0 MFI rally car that uses the 36mm insert the make 310 hp @ 7260 and 242 f/lb of torque. The end result was a flat torque curve from 3500-5800. This was accomplished using a DC 80 cam. This cam is generally considered too aggressive for vintage rally. The Venti Port made the difference.

I figured that as it is a short and difficult track, and my ability is limiting the car, I might as well make it easier to drive even if it is much less powerful and worse on paper. I managed to save a lot of weight by putting a 1.6L turbocharged I4.

Also added much more downforce, and made the suspension much less stiff since the Beam.NG gravel bumps seem to be made of super hard rock. The turbo could probably be improved, haven't tinkered much with them.

Suggestion: I think for the next challenge, tires shouldn't count towards the 100 desirability minimum to homologate. I tried to use off-road tires but desirability plummeted in pretty much every category.

I think it makes sense to ignore tires because those can and are meant to be changed depending on the conditions the car is going to be raced in

A rally car that is going to race in gravel is going to use off-road tire compound and reinforcement, but it would change them for tarmac tires for a tarmac race or make it street-worthy for driving between racing stages.
