Pauter Rods: Regular or Lightweight?
There are 2 references for Pauter rods for the 3.0L engine.
One weights 570g (P30-220-560-1278F) and the lightweight version weights 511g (P30-220-560-1278FL). Why would someone chose the heavier one? High horsepower Turbo applications maybe? |
Stronger rod, looking at the specs BE is almost the same, so they took the weight mostly off the arm and SE.
What are you using the car for? For the street, DE and AX the factory rod is fine. I'd pick Carrillo before Paulter in the price range. I've used paulter (customer supplied) in a couple builds with no issues, I just like the H beam design better. If racing I'd rather build with carrillo, serious and bigger budget I'd go with Pankl Ti rods. This is a good read, more than just on Carrillo rods. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/911-engine-rebuilding-forum/310618-carrillo-rods.html |
