Another ENGINE # decode

Hi All,

new to the forum and looking to buy a Porsche. I'm on the hunt and found one that I am interested in but the seller (consignment dealership) doesn't have much info and the owner is non responsive.

Hoping someone on here can help me decode this engine number
6290209

what i gathered so far is
6 cylinder
911E
MY1979 or 1969?

picture attached for reference. Let me know. Thanks for your help

It’s aluminum so it won’t be a 69.

More than likely in a 79 SC.

What is the VIN of the car.

6290001-on should be engine type 930/04, which I think I can see behind the green/black wire. So this is a 1979 model year engine for the US 49 state specification.

The 3.0 is a nice upgrade for a DD, but of course no longer a numbers matching car.

Not putting miles on your car is like not having sex with your girlfriend, so she'll be more desirable to her next boyfriend.
