Ultrasonic cleaning companies? -oil coolers
I just learned that Ultrasonic Cleaning Corp Welcome to Ultrasonic Cleaning Corporation | Precision Cleaning and Testing Services no longer cleans automotive or motorcycle parts. Is there an East Coast Ultrasonic company that will clean Porsche oil coolers and oil tanks? Is the West Coast my only option?
I spun a rod bearing and want to make certain everything is cleaned from the oil tank and coolers. Please advise. |

I'm in the same boat, haven't had any luck finding anyone here on the west coast to do my engine case now that Ultrasonic Cleaning Corp is no longer doing automotive parts.
I know Pacific can do your tank and cooler for you: Pacific Oil Cooler Service, Inc. - Home

After watching a racer burn through 3 engines I will never trust a cleaned oil cooler. Way too many places for the debris to hide.
The story, racer pops first engine and metal debris is circulated through oiling system. Engine rebuild, lines, tank and cooler cleaned. The engine died again in short amount of time. Rod bearings were toast and oil glittery. Next engine went through the same process and suffer d same fate. The last one they did everything the same except they replaced the oil cooler. Still running to this day. The oil cooler was ultrasonically cleaned each time. Unless there’s a process that was skipped in cleaning that I am unaware of I can’t see trusting an oil cooler. I think of em more like ͏o͏i͏l filters that trap debris. Anyway that’s what I’ve seen and my thoughts. YMMV....risk to reward is not worth the bet IMHO |

Like I've said before, when we had a bearing failure on the race cars, the oil coolers were tossed, NOT cleaned. The engine mounted Behr one for the Porsche's is expensive, but there's really no alternative.
You could replace the cooler with a 993 oil filter console and an oil cooler adapter, then run the cooler(s) on the pressure side of the system instead of on the scavenge side. FWIW, the later model cars have the oil coolers on the pressure side of the system, too. |

Can’t one just fill the cooler with diesel, cap the ends, and put on a vibratory base. Or, if cheap, attach to a vibrating hand sander... goal is to vibrate it...
Would likely accomplish the same... |

It’s the same price to put the cooler in a large usps priority box and send it west instead of east. I know there’s at least one place in NJ that does coolers for airplanes that will also do the Behr coolers.
