Ring gap: JE set vs rebuild app A
JE pistons provided the following
Borex0.045” for min gap. With 98 mm cylinder this yields 3.86”x 0.005 = 0.0193” or ~ 0.5 mm min gap Seems to be wider than the values in Wayne’s rebuilding thesis (.2 mm - .4 mm) using 1982 - 1989 values. Be sure to look at the formula for what you are using the engine for, ie.street, race, blown/nitros etc. follow what Je suggest and you are fine, be sure they are square and detail the ends for burrs.
