Engine Tinware Finish
Doing a refurb of my 1970 911t and I wondered what finish the engine tinware should have for an oem finish? Black satin? Gloss? Something else?
I am going to have it powdercoated for longevity |

Don’t forget to trim the double centers for better cooling.

Gloss black is original. I paint mine silver for better visibility of dropped stuff. leaks, dirt etc. Plus it brightens up the area.

It's been a few years, so i don't remember the exact number, but as I recall a 40% gloss black powdercoat is a pretty good match for the factory satin paint. Thread some junk bolts in to the nuts in the tin so the threads don't get coated.
