Another sc engine rebuild

Good afternoon,
I haven't been on the site for such a long time . Life has a funny way of changing ones priorities. Ok , enough of that . I finally got back to my 80 Sc drove it from so ca up to no ca . Car ran great ,then the car got warm ,starter overheated , then ran leak down tests and a couple of cylinders reflected 20% +- leakage. Car has 150,000 hard miles. Pulled the motor and now I'm beside myself on how to proceed from here. I've never rebuilt one before, installed new clutch a few years ago without a problem . Now ,I read all the posts ,to just do top end , send it out ,have it done , upgrade it to a 3.2 but on a limited budget . I'm in a stalemate position. I want to the do it myself but so many options . Any advise would be much appreciated
Glad to be back

Tim

Check out my rookie rebuild of a 3.0

Never even worked on a Porsche engine before and after a few years it still runs perfect.

There are a couple of books available you may want to study.

Well, maybe not the T owner's manual.

Engine Rebuilding Classes..........

Tim,

I have an Engine Rebuilding Classes in April/May 2020 if you are one of those people who are interested in learning how to do a 911 engine rebuild but have very limited experience. There are still a few seats available as of today. PM me if you have any questions.

Tony
