piston deck height

I need some help with what deck height I need. 3.0L twin plug with JE 11.5:1 pistons. I have seen many ideas on this and just want to get this done right. Nearly every item is new. Thanks

I set up at .040'' as a rule. I have heard as low as .035, but I have set at .038 and that looked very close on the tear down. Also the type material in the piston will factor in as to how much expansion you can expect. I use strips of solder. Sometimes you have to get into piston or cylinder machining, but is what it is. Just for the record keeping, the last 2 sets of pistons I used were not the compression as advertised. Check them. Bob
