opinions on this engine local to me?

this popped up on my local facebook. I've considered buying it for future rebuild and install into my flared 74 914. Appears to be a 911T engine.

value as a core?
how easy/expensive would it be to rebuild as E or S specs?

sorry for the newb questions. Not that familiar with 911 six engines

70 T engine so no oil squirters for pistons. Mag case so if it needs the works figure on 15K if you build it your self. I listed some pricing for my 2.4 build in this post, also good price estimates from others.

2.4 Engine to ST Speces

Without a running history, it might be worth half what is being asked just in parts.

I would do a leakdown and bore scope inspection, at the very least, if I was interested in this motor.

If you are not experienced with these motors, and expect someone else to do the wrenching, you will probably be in for a big surprise.

Better off to start with a 3.0
Residual value is higher and build costs tend to be less
Hate to see anyone with $15000+ in a 2.2

3l offers all kinds of clutch and gearbox strength issues on a 914. Better to stick with the 2.2-2.7l engines for a -6 conversion unless one is also doing a 915/916 gearbox conversion at the same time.
