1992 964 3.6 rod bolt help, somewhat urgent

venturing down the road of my first 3.6 rebuild. Ive done a couple 3.0's, but this is the first 3.6

the motor is a 1992 964 3.6

I am trying to source new rod bolts and nuts, however

1. when i type model and year into pelican, it gives me the later style 12 point nuts, which is clearly not what was used on this motor as I have attached a pic of the rods after returning from machine shop. I know there is different torquing specs for the 12 point vs. hex nut so this is why I ask

2. It tells me 964 rod bolts are no longer available, on the 3.0 motors I have always use Porsche 914 part number rod bolts which are still available. I am not sure if that applies to the 964 application also.

Patrick Motorsports sells "Factory Porsche 964 rod bolts" but then that brings me back to question 1, which is the correct nut to use

The 3.2 and 3.6 engines used a smaller rod bolt than the earlier engines. I chose to use the ARP rod bolts for my 3.6 build, as there is some discussion about whether the later rod bolts are up to high RPM usage. The ARP bolts come in a nice package complete with nuts and their special lube. And, yes, they use 12 point nuts.

+1. Buy ARP bolts, use their nuts, lube and torque/stretch spec. They're like a case of beer or so more expensive than the factory bolt set - but shouldn't exceed their elastic limit in normal use. Until they do, they're infinitely re-usable. Use the stretch gauge if you're splitting the cases...

The smaller factory rod bolts, if overrev'd, can stretch. There's no grey area there.

They sometimes also stretch for no apparent reason; right as I was collecting my 3.3 rebuilt from a dropped rod bolt (with ARP bolts this time). 20+ year owner's 3.2 came in for the same thing. He said he didn't overrev. At least I knew why mine had let go (missed shift).

The later 3.2 rod bolts are 12.9 strength
The original 3.2/3.6 bolts were 15 ft# then 90 degree swing.
The later bolts that are 12.9 strength get 90 degree swing two times
