cylinder head for 3 liter 911 engine
I just started an engine rebuild on a 3 liter 911 engine and one of the cylinder heads has a pit that will not clean up. The number on mine is 930 104 329 2R. Does anybody have one that I can buy?

Show a pic of the pit. It might be just fine as-is.

It would be easy peasy to put a tack weld on it and remachine it. No big deal at all.
Who machined it with a mill on a rotary table? It's more common to just chuck it up in the lathe with a dedicated fixture. |

The gentleman doing the head work is concerned about warping it so I decided I would just try to find a used one and replace it.

To match the head you need the K# in the bottom right side of head combustion chamber.

Thanks for the K number info. Talked to the head man and he says there is a cavern under the pit.

You may have other problems as well. Head sealing could be an issue with that rough finish. That head can be repaired without distorting the head.
