Early 911 rocker questions
67 S engine. Doing a top end freshen up. It was noticed that some of my rockers where forged. So I got some good used cast ones to suit the rest. Upon assembly these don't have a bronze bush like the ones I have. Can I mix them. Are they any good. Also they have short shafts and small bolts which I can swap out

cast & forged
They are different weights for starters. The early cast rockers that did not have the bushings used a rocker shaft with a black anti-scuff dry film. The forged rockers weigh about 20 grams less.Ciao Fred

I recall reading in Bruce Anderson's book about the early cast versions that weren't bushed. Back in the day when rockers were cheap, people usually tossed them. I'd imagine it should be fine to have a machine shop bush them. It might be wise to resurface them as well if you go that route to make sure they're flat with the cam lobes.

Good luck ! I haven't found anyone willing to rebush these rockers , Ollie's told me they were just junk . Forged and cast rocker ratios are slightly different , cannot be used in the same engine .
