A challenge to my Porsche friends

Over the years, many of you have thanked me for my participation on this forum.
Here's another way to thank me.

Supertec in conjunction with a few local individuals and businesses is putting together a winter care package for local homeless.
The package includes cotton hoodie, thermal blanket, 6 pairs of tighty whities, 6 pair of winter socks, 2 rain ponchos, a hygiene kit all packaged in a water-tight back pack.
We are packaging these kits for women, children and men.
Each backpack cost $41.50 and we are looking for donations.
100% of money donated goes to purchasing supplies. Shipping, packaging and deliveries are done by volunteers.
Here's your chance to put you money where your heart is.
These people will benefit from your charity. No government, no coercion, no annoying calls.
You don't even have to lick a stamp.
PayPal gifts are the best way to make it happen. It is not tax deductible so I will pay the tax out of my own pocket on all gifts received.

We found a great place to distribute them.
It's called Humanity Showers and they're located 100 or so yards from my parts store, 911 Vintage parts.
They offer showers, barber and hygiene products.

I sent enough to cover one. Homelessness is a really overwhelming problem, because it’s not “the lack of a home” that makes one homeless. I’m not sure we as a society are doing anything to actually help those people change their situation, but helping them stay warm in the winter seems like basic human compassion. Thank you for organizing the effort.

I've never sent a gift and I'm having problems finding the gift icon for sending money for a winter care package to Henry.

On the Send Money Preview, I click the Paying for an item or service Change icon. PayPal says there will be a gift icon on that screen but I can't find that.

Can someone help me out or are this money being sent as Friends and Family?

I just tried to send a gift using a credit card vs PayPal balance and couldn't find an icon as well. I don't know how to help. If you send it as a payment , we will absorb the fee. Your efforts are greatly appreciated.

Paypal Payment to "Friends and Family"

Harold, when you get to the LAST page, under the amount you are sending it should have box (very thin outline box) that says Paying for Item or service. the the right it should say CHANGE highlighted in blue. Right click the blue "CHANGE" icon and a window that says "What's this payment for?" There are two large boxes that cime up in the window outlined in thin blue lines. Pick ethe first one that says, "Sending to a friend"

Just sent my donation as Friends and Family. I know how cold it can get in Fallbrook and eastern San Diego. Back in the late 80s early 90s I lived in Santee and Oceanside visiting friends routinely in Fallbrook.

Ok, I finally figured out how to send a gift on PayPal.

Their Help box for How can I send money as a gift? is incorrect.

From the Send & Request screen click the More button which has the Send a gift option. There you just need to click the Send Gift button. This opens the Who is the gift for? screen. From here it looks very similar to the normal PayPal send money screens.

I hope this helps others.
