Best plug wire choice, Old Clewett or Beru?

For my aftermarket EFI set up I have a choice between a Clewett custom set of 12 that have seen rough handling (cosmetic, torn fabric on the sheath, but not the rubber underneath) or Beru custom set of 12 that look to be in good condition.
Both sets are less than 8 years old and were only used for 3-4 years.

SDS has coil packs the same as the twin plug Clewett add on and some TEC systems.
I have to give one set of wires away.

Clewett
with out question. Beru has a greater failure rate than any wire I have ever seen.

If the Beru wires are OEM, I'm not sure of their quality anymore. They seem to have cheapened the connections.

beware of Beru Plug Connectors

I kept the Beru, I couldn't get pass how much the Clewett wires were damaged and the covers were dirt magnets.
My coil packs are the GM units, I can use any V8 set for new plug wires for no more than $50 and I have lots of OE plug ends.

We have seen plug end fit issues with the Clewett wires. Not sure I would recommend them.

I purchased a set of Beru from our host a while back to replace my originals that performed OK but looked tired and old. I fitted them up and from that point on i had no end of trouble. Misfiring on a number of cylinders. I chased each miss down and repaired the poor termiations at both ends. After many wasted hours i thought i had it sorted. Fired it up the next day and had misfiring on two cylinders when cold. I ordered a set of Clewetts and i was amazed at the quality. Fitment was great and they have not given an ounce of trouble in three years. I tried to sent the old Beru wired back but it all got too hard jumping through the hoops with PP so i threw thim in the bin and called it good. I am not sure where the Beru were made but it certainly wasn't Germany. Absolute junk.

I had the same issue with Clewett wires around 10 years ago and some plug ends easily pulled out and I was afraid to repair and run them. Since they were an electrical part that I tried to install, they were deemed not returnable - even though I never ran them. Maybe they were a bad batch?

I’ve had Beru for the past decade with no issues.

G450X, our exact experience. They may be better now, but we have never risked trying again. We can't, our clients need a reliable solution. We have never had a problem with Beru, but supply chains around the world may change that as the one poster that had issues lives in Australia...

Cheers

Think I have used them all. Love the Magnacore, hands down.

The Beru I buy are made in France, if that helps anyone.

Chris
I have GM coils with the male ends so a standard set of 911 wires won't work.

I have a set of magnacores, if they worked for me I'd buy another set to make 12.
The best set I have right now are PMS for my twinplug dizzy, far superior casing, but again they won't work.

beru

decided to try this
I have the wood screw connectors,
(it's an old vise off a boat)

post is crimped on brass rod that has a shoulder

drilled the top with a 5/32nd drill

and the connector came right off

will use it to seat new inserts. ordered threaded wire ends, will cut off wood screw, solder to insert, and tap connector for threaded part.

I know it's a lot of work, but I like reusing things

one interesting thing, not all the contents of the berus were the same, four had 1 resistor a couple had 2

I was surprised they had no rubber spark plug end seal/boot on the insulator.

Anyways I'm not going to worry about it till I get to that point, with the amount of 914 work I've taken on I won't get my new EFI system on my engine till next winter.

3rd pic the little red spider is admiring your work.
Is this the only complaint about the beru, the resistor?
