intermediate shaft plug sealant or dry?

Engine is a 1986 3.3 liter turbo
Cleaned the intermediate shaft today by removing the snap ring and plug. Just a bit or oil smut inside. I expected the plug to be a light press fit but it slid right out. Does anyone put a dab of Loctite 518 gasket sealant on this plug before putting it back in? Seems it would function better sealed.
Thanks
David

Why? I'd suppose very little oil flows past this plug, since the resistance to flow there would be enormously higher than via the two bearings. Plus it is nice not to have to fuss getting it out again when that time comes.

I've always had those plugs be press fit (noting that I haven't seen very many.) So I guess I'll offer a counter-point. If the plug slides easily, I'd see no harm in applying sealant.
