I have decided to replace the gear with a good original. Thanks to some members I have been offered some good used ones.
The offset is also different. I would run out shoulder to locate it on the early shaft.
It's all to hard. It's just not made for a pre 68 and a half 911 I'm sorry to say

Thanks to a member I have a really used one.
I'm very happy with the outcome.
PS never heard back from Pauter or the supplier re " Any tricks to fitting this " or it the wrong part.
