I'd get the rebuild receipts. MM was pretty prolific in the 2012 time frame.

Owner says all work was done by Mobile Works West, who seems to have decent reviews. Regardless, If anyone looks at this car, I would follow Dtxscott's advice.

Fan color have zero to do with rebuild quality. Do your home work and always have a hands on approach. If you can't assess the important issues, pay someone who can.
If the owner won't allow a comprehensive evaluation, find another car/engine/project.

This, when powder coating became mainstream, a lot of people would have everything powder coated while having their engines rebuilt. Red was one of the most popular colors (maybe had something to do with Big Red 993 brakes) and top quality techs were having them coated as well.
It seems, at least in the MM build that I have seen, it almost looks like a sloppy rattle can job on the fans. Somewhere I have some pictures of a few actual MM rebuilds that I have seen in person.

Again, as Henry stated, Red doesn't always mean MM, iSystems built this 3.0 for me years ago.

Broadfoot built this one for me a while back.

Both of these engines are solid and strong.
Now, the same powder coat shop did the coating for both engines.

Beware if Mobile Works West touched anything on that car. I have two first had experiences that would make you think twice...
