Rebuild hours 71 911
Whats the approximate number of hours to rebuild a 71 911 S engine not including ancillaries, like mfi or other parts. Just a crankcase and head rebuild without catastrophic damage.
Rings, bearings, gaskets. Thanks for your input.

Book time for a seasoned professional is around 60 hours labor, start to finish.

If you said book time to me, I'd tell you to find another engine builder.
Book time is on a bone stock engine, stock cams, no additions, etc and to top it off it's based upon working on a less than 10 year old engine, not a 50 year old engine. The OP says "Just a crankcase and head rebuild without catastrophic damage" and "Rings, bearings, gaskets." As a 30 year builder that's usually not the case and rarely do I see no surprises. Be wary of the lowest bidder, they often skip important steps or don't have the experience you need.
