piston oil squirter question

On this early 911 case (1965) the oil bypass modification has been done and piston squirters installed. Please look at the attached picture an tell me if I am correct in thinking the piston squirter is installed backwards. As far as I understand the point of the check ball and spring in the squirter is to open during higher oil pressure/engine rpm to lubricate and cool the piston and not flood the case at idle. Multiple modifications were done to this engine at another shop and I'm trying to diagnose why it scuffed the piston and cylinder. 86mm JE piston and AA nikasil cylinder. I have tried to blow through them and cannot unless I blow through the end by the cylinder base.

Takes about 50 to 60 ish psi and a good seal to open them

Not correct, if the ball was facing up there would be no way for oil to through. Ball goes on bottom small hole on top. Oil pushes ball and spring up to let oil get through.

Try again to post the pictures of your installed piston oil squirters so we could see them. Attached are pictures of my piston oil squirters.



Piston oil squirters #1-2-3-4-5 (showing the outside as installed in the crankcase) and #6-7 go inside.

You guys are fantastic and I really appreciate your feedback! The way your squirters are installed are the way I thought they should be in there but the ones in the case I'm looking at are definitely wrong. I'm trying to attach my photo but I can't get it to work. Any help on that? I'm sure you would find the photo interesting to see. It seems to be attaching and then nothing.
