Frozen rocker arm
Slowly but unsurely, as always. I am installing rockers after timing the cams. At even half torque, the #1 exhaust rocker is pinched so tight it won't move. I have tried a few other rocker arms and shafts in that space with the same results. The bores feel smooth, and I don't see any hairline cracks in the cam box.
I'm aware of walking rocker shafts, but searches haven't turned up information about stiff rockers. Anyone experience this? What should I be looking at? (3.0 stock but for 930 cams, rebuilding due to broken or slipped timing chain) |

Rocker shaft alignment? If the rocker shaft is not installed properly (offset to the short side), as you tighten the bolt the rocker will seize.

You got it, Henry. I figured out I had aligned the shaft to the incorrect side, and I was just sitting down to try to delete my post when I saw your reply. When I say "shaft," I mean "shafts," because everyone I tried in there I aligned incorrectly. Maybe I need an alignment. Thanks for your reply!
