Does this 3.2 RSR p/c kit fit togheter with GT3 crank ?
As the heading says, will this p/c kit from Mahle fit togheter with the 76,4mm GT3 crank inside a SC crankcase ?

No. Since the GT3 crank has a 6mm longer stroke, the piston pin height is different. The pistons will stick out above the cylinders.

Well, any piston fits with any crank, it just depends on the connecting rod. The question did not specify which rods were intended.

Thanks :) Do you know which rods that will fit and what lenght they must have? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
No standard Porsche rod....you would have to have shorter custom rods made.....and you would have terrible rod geometry. Get the right pistons for the standard 3.2 rods.

As Scott said, it won't take a standard length rod. If you were starting with a 3.0L, the rod length is 127.8mm. The increased stroke for a GT3 crank is 6mm, so subtract half of that. Rod length would need to be 124.8mm (custom length). BUT, since the swept volume of the cylinder is now greater with the longer stroke, the advertised compression ratio is not correct. The actual compression ratio will be about 1 point higher, so 11.3:1.
Just get order the right parts. |
