How much play is too much on a carburetor throttle valve shaft? How is it measured?
We have a set of Zenith 40 TIN and I'd like to evaluate if they are good candidates for rebuild. I've read that the key factor is wear to the throttle valve shaft. I see in a Weber 40 service manual some instructions for removing and replacing shafts that have suffered excessive wear, but I don't see any definition of "excessive". Thanks. |

Generally [not always] the only bushing that wear are on the ends with the level/link rods. If you can feel movement it is normally a sign that the cylinders won't balance.
We can refresh them if you decide to go that way. We may even have a restored set on the shelf ready to go. These are a set of Webers we restored

If you can hear them click at idle they are too worn. You will also have trouble balancing.
Henry do you guys sell those specific fuel line ferrules? I like the look and would be interested in purchasing. Daniel
