Converting RSR CW Distributor to CCW?
I have a twin plug 30mm shaft Marelli distributor with a Clockwise rotation gear.
I only need to change the distributor gear to counter clockwise in order to use it in my 1982 3 liter case/crank with the CCW gear on the crank shaft. Of course I’ll need to get the plug wires in the right order for the CCW rotation I think the answer is yes but want to check with the experts. Cheers Dan |

The answer is sadly no. You won’t have any mechanical advance if you rotate it CCW. (Assuming it still has an advance mechanism)
Also I believe the spiral groove cut into the dist shaft for oiling will move oil away from the bushings instead of towards them for lubrication Daniel

You'll need to change the distributor drive gear on the nose of the crank to the CW gear. As pointed out, you can't switch the distributor because of the advance mechanism.

Thanks for the response
Didn’t think about lubrication or the advance system…
