Hint of the day if rebuildin 964/993
The green Victor Reinnz cylinder base gaskets that come w/ most rebuild gasket sets are not gonna work, they are an ovalized version of the correct round black gaskets,
don't be fooled by the part #s, as both gaskets have the same Porsche Part # Get the correct ones from Neil Harvey or another knowledgeable supplier |
The key is to buy Wrightwood Racing gasket sets. Every washer, seal, o-ring and gasket is the best quality available.

+1 on Wrightwood !! Used it on my 3.6 four years ago. Still tight.
I saw a 964 motor have to come completely back apart after a local shop used a Victor Reinz kit. Leaked like a sieve. Mechanic was "not happy". |
I should have been more specific. I am looking for a copper shim that would fit a 3.6, as in .010'', .020'', not the 0 ring. Thanks, Bob

LN engineering or if you need some odd ball sizes, I’ve gotten them from Jae Lee (though they were bore in size).

All of these o-rings in question are readily available from most hydraulic seal supply houses. In a variety of materials and durometers. Neil, Charly etc are not having them made custom.... :) But, sure, easier to buy from someone who has already done the research.
