Cylinder flycut
One of my cylinders were damaged due to two broken studs on the same cylinder, not much but I will fix it. The cylinder head shows no damage, but they will be checked by a shop.
As I have read in Waynes book I need to adjust and check the deck height after this and this got me thinking (again...) Can I just flycut one cylinder 0.25 mm and use an oversize base gasket to compensate this ?? Or is this just a crasy thought that i should keep to myself ( to late... ) It is not about saving money, but i cant get this out of my mind and would like to hear your opinion.

You could probably cut all 3 cylinders to the same height, then use base gaskets on all of them. In theory your idea should work but, I would worry that a single cylinder would not match the rest close enough. I am likely wrong about this but thats what I would do just to be safe.

What about the recess/relief for the head gasket? Can the head gasket compress another .25mm? Maybe something to look into.

i've done that on all six, and it worked fine. loose heads will certainly pound the top edge out of true. nix on the "one only" thought. the head o ring will take an extra 1/4 mm (0.25) squish. use 0.50 base gaskets to compensate.
