that el.connector i`m not sure it will work since there should be insolation cable and inside pick up wire of the temp....but all is possible..
the plug is from your AFM air flow meter ,where do you adjsut the fuel mix look here..

You are correct Ivan, looks like at some point the connection in the engine compartment for the CHT probably crumbled and instead of replacing the sensor with a updated 2 wire they cut and did a crappy splice on to the old 1 wire sensor with the new 2 wire sensor harness, talk about a hack.

The single wire sensor used the cyl head for its ground point and the 2 wire used a dedicated ground so that rig would work and appears that it has but if I was the OP I would be changing that thing out for an OEM 2 wire as a preventative maintenance as opposed to being stranded on the side of the road.

Tks Guys: Had not seen response due to holiday I guess so I spent hours poring over
parts manuals and finally fount that plug. Thought that what it was as our japanese
m/c carbs used to have same thing after all the smog crap. Found a new head temp
sender and will replace with new 2 wire style. Also speed sensors are all losing their
insulation so they go too! Thanks again and I am sure I will have many more questions
later. Rebuild my 2.4 30 years ago and she is now still going strong in Greece!
