964 build timing one bank only?
Any reason not to set up cam, rockers and timing on the left (1-3) bank prior to right (4-6) set up? Having exhaust stud fixed on #4 ( machine shop has the head) and thought I would finish building 1-3, unless there is something I am missing?

Any way you want to do it, you’re the builder.
Doing half the motor doesn’t make a lot of sense, at least do the complete top end. C2 has a lot of leakage available and as long as you have it out attempt to handle the possible. As far as cam timing, you have to match right and left Bruce |

Thanks Bruce. It’s a complete rebuild. I’m just waiting on one of the heads back. Trying to determine if there is anything that should stop me completing the other bank. Most say to set the timing on #1 then #4. Looking to set 1-3 up then do 4-6 when I get the other head back and tower mounted.

Any way you like as long as the cam timing matches.
