Year ago I had a shaft that just wouldn't turn, so we unbolted the pressure plate (9- 8mm bolts) by removing the starter and loosing the bolts through the starter hole.

Rust or whatever, it’s frozen on the vertical shaft and makes for adjusting impossible as well as the feel of the clutch, very hard.
Have used heat and air chisel with the point to remove the lever. When reinstalling use axel grease or anti seize to lube the shaft because it needs to rotate freely to adjust the clutch properly. Bruce |

thx, guys- a couple of days of pb blaster, blows with hammer and finally success- will certainly install with grease- still have no clue as to why it was so important to remove!- transmission separated just fine and would have done so with arm in place- idk!!

If the shaft is frozen the fork won’t rotate out of release bearing grove.
