The body harness, wideband 02 sensors and the exhaust cutoff wiring has all been routed through the tunnel. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1707884855.jpg |

usually that big hole in the bilk head to the right of the harness is where it would come through can't wait to see it installed I've started collecting the pieces to mount mine like that got the 3.2 console will use the Sheridan f/g tin replacements debating whether to go for a Ti or SS cross bar, I like the Rennline version because of the boxed ends but Ti would be nice too |

I would like to do a different cross bar, I dislike the one I currently have, I just don’t really know wha5 will bolt on vs having to make something. The Sheridan parts look even better in Person, I highly recommend them. I have no before pics, but the old harness was a hack job, chaotically finished in green electrical tape. This setup is so much cleaner with a main harness quick release. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1709869690.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1709869990.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1709869990.jpg |
Work has been hectic, but I was able to get a free day to start the install. Got a bunch of odds & ends finished up, and the engine is now mounted. I need a few more hours before we are ready to fire but we are getting close

I'm going to pull mine this week to correct a few other issues and replace the tin w/ Sheridan f/g, also bought a Rennline cross bar & mounts

Shorter studs are needed for the 3.2 console vs the 3.6 version

Engine is back in the 99 3nvr fits like a glove
Heat needs to be re imagined though http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1712335115.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1712335115.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1712335115.JPG |

Got the car started over the weekend :)
Exhaust was on quiet mode and the fan needed adjustment in the first video. https://youtube.com/shorts/0eUl2jDfAyM?si=BgfGs_K991Aupg8R https://youtube.com/shorts/htasQ4l5LP8?feature=shared |

Sheridan told me emphatically that his f/g wouldn't work w/ that combo but you prove him mistaken The f/g must allow the engine to sit higher than mine w/ the 3.6 tin did after replacing the 3.6 console and cross bar w/ 3.2 version the engine sits where a 911 engine should, the rubber along the sides seals and more importantly the exhaust is tucked up where it should be I'm pretty sure the these are the pieces you have http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1712698606.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1712698606.jpg these are the pieces I used http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1712698677.JPG down side is 1) I had to redo the heat, not an issue on yours 2) the stock air cleaner box just won't fit so I went back to the cone I used a few years ago. |

I had the same concerns as you and decided to go with the 95 obd1 engine and retrofitted the VRam intake after the fact. I think the later cars can be done, but I didn’t want that extra challenge. |

Well, i finally made it through the break in miles and got to do a few pulls on the Dyno.
Here are the baseline pulls with a few things to note. - I have a fuel cutoff from the SWchip at 6,200 RPM, I may be able to squeeze a bit more going up to the factory 6,800-7,000 redline - it looks like my AFRs are a bit on the lean side and that will need to be adjusted for safety, maybe HP? - I'm in Colorado at 5,280 ft elevation (i don't know if that really changes anything?) - The last pull (in orange) was with the "quiet" mode selected on the GT3 muffler. I was expecting a bit more loss there. i assume with some changes to the chip and AFRs i should be able to get a few spare ponies out of the car. at 268 Wheel Horsepower i assume I'm making around 310 crank, which puts me in the range of what i would say is reasonable. Here is the build. Mahle 3.8 liter piston and cylinder 11.4:1 compression 993 RS Intake Valves 993 RS Exhaust Valves Light Port and Polish Pauter Lightweight Connecting Rods AASCO Titanium valve springs retainers AASCO Titanium Retainers AASCO Titanium Keepers FVD Mechanical Rocker Arm Conversion FVD Sport Cams for Mechanical Rocker Arms Fabspeed Carrera Cup Intake S-Car-GO 1 7/8 Headers Gt3 muffler (top and bottom feed) Steve Wong Chip Arp hardware Patrick Motorsports Light Flywheel Patrick Motorsports 3.6 conversion Clutch Rothsport Single Belt pulley Any thoughts or feedback? Since you are in Colorado, did the dyno operator correct for altitude? Typically a non-boosted engine loses about 3% HP per 1000ft, thus you would be down about 15% compared to sea level. If those were not corrected for altitude, then you have even more power at lower altitude than you measured.
|
For the SAE correction, the Dynojet software corrects to 77 degrees F, 29.23 inhg and 0% humidity. At least they used to do that.
Also, I believe that dyno sheet is stating it is using SAE correction and that the correction factor used on the raw data is 1.19. So that 267.42 HP pull measured at 224.72 HP. |
