Worst. Rebuild. Ever.
I had my car up on the lift today and while searching for a few leaks found that for some reason the previous owner used multiple base gaskets on all cylinders. Did I say multiple? Yup, as in 5-7 copper gaskets beneath all jugs. Looks like I'm going to pull it out this fall just to find out what else was screwed up

Probably didn't know that they make thicker base gaskets to compensate for head machining. Not supposed to stack any at all. I guess it's good that there is an outward sign of incompetence. Otherwise you'd have never known. (Trying to look on the bright side here.) Good luck.
