I decided after reading that my posts were taken as offensive to wait and read what was said.
Here is where I was coming from. I have read for some time about many here who have been on the wrong side of purchasing parts and services. Some have been sold junk, parts never delivered etc. I cannot clean up the sales nor is it my place too. But it is my place to conduct myself in a way that I do the customer right. I come here to give advice, make suggestions and show how we go about these tasks. I offer up what we are developing. In my post I did show what the cam card we supply looks like, but never did I say to buy our cams. From memory, he asked if you used 964 cams did you have any regrets and if so, what you do differently. I suggested he do a valve drop and see the parameters he had to work within so any cam chosen, would fit. I then made the comment about selling 100’s of the same cam and the only feed back was they were not aggressive enough. And, I felt and said, that was done without showing business integrity. If you are going to profit from this business, do it honestly with integrity. This forum is mostly DIY people. Most have not had the privilege in learning how to, when it comes to building these engines. They rely upon us with more knowledge and experience to guide and help. If you have sold 100’s of the same camshaft, you are in the cam business. How many cams do you need to sell and hear they did not give the performance required, before you decide maybe the result is more important than the sale. If I kept selling the same part knowing the part did not give the performance requested, I either did not inform the customer of this or I was more interested in the sale and not the result. But, I should not expect others to think the same. My mistake and apologies are offered. This is not how I do business. This is why we keep developing parts. This is why we keep developing parts for these older Porsche engines. We offer our parts along with many other really well-respected companies. Many offer advice on this forum as well. It gives this community choices from businesses that care about the result and want to help the DIY. Its not about the sale. If your parts are good along with your advice, your parts will sell. It has nothing to do with my history or expecting people to bow down to me. I look at where comments like those come from. Could care less and not worth my time. I will keep supporting and offering advice to those that are interested. Look at all advice not just mine and make your decisions based upon experience, knowledge and engineering. |

If they want a product it is not unethical to sell them a highly recommended product. Your attempt to justify your arrogance by doubling down on arrogance is not doing your reputation any good. Maybe you should just let it go. I guarantee you, I will not.
