993 hydraulic lifters OUT

seems like everyone has these out of stock, I got enough from our host to do the lower side, still some ticking, so going to replace the upper now.

I ordered, and I was so eager, I guess I ordered the turbo lifters. I've read several places where people used the turbo and NA ones interchangeably with no issues

whats the general consensus? return and wait for NA standard sized ones to replace with the turbo ones? Dimensions seem to be the same when measured with calipers from the old ones that I pulled out and replaced...fyi engine is a ROW 3.6 varioram

The lifters have been out of stock for months now. I order a full set for my '95 3.6 and only received 11. I finally got 1 more from Gaudin Porsche to complete the set. Good luck.

That involves backdating the rocker arms and modifying them, then using to old style adjusting screw.

Cheers

What happened to your old ones? I would put one of those back in until you can get a new one.

Which brings up another question: why are you replacing them in the first place?

Regarding solid rockers.. You do not need to modify the 993's. Use 930 rockers, and have them width clearanced because some will fit and some will not in the 993 cam tower. The bushing needs to put in and not drilled for oiling hole.

Here's one setup with grooved bushing

I swapped them out on my car because the stock lifter has a rubber seal on it; the new ones have a teflon seal that will better hold up over time. Apparently the rubber ones can crack.

We are saying the same thing Joe lol. Backdate- use the older production parts. Modify- new bushings not drilled and arm clearanced to fit...

Cheers

I have. The part numbers are different for the turbo and Na engine. But I read a post from 20 years ago that someone said they could be used interchangeably.

Simple asking if anyone had experience doing that or do I need to return the turbo ones I ordered mistakenly
