Repair or Replace Veriocam Solenoid
Veriocam solenoid seems to be bad on bank 1 haven’t opened bank 2 yet. I have watched videos of using break cleaner to try and get them working again just not sure how long it will last. I have already put about three grand into the current repairs with the IMS replacement just not sure if I should bite the bullet and replace them at another $1400 or try and clean them out to see if I can get them working again.
One other thing. So, I have shards of plastic in my oil I expect from bank 2 cam pads. My plan was to put a cheaper oil in the car run it for a few miles then do another oil change to see if I can clean it out. Thoughts? |
Depends, is it just the actuator or the entire unit? Either way, cam cover is off, so you are into it for some time.... Are you doing the work, or is a shop? Do you want to risk the time to do it again?
As we offer warranty on this sort of repair, we are replacing. End of story. Cheers |
Doing the work myself and thats what i was leaning towards, just replace solenoid while i am in there.

Do it all when it is apart.
