Repair or Replace Veriocam Solenoid

Veriocam solenoid seems to be bad on bank 1 haven’t opened bank 2 yet. I have watched videos of using break cleaner to try and get them working again just not sure how long it will last. I have already put about three grand into the current repairs with the IMS replacement just not sure if I should bite the bullet and replace them at another $1400 or try and clean them out to see if I can get them working again.

One other thing.
So, I have shards of plastic in my oil I expect from bank 2 cam pads. My plan was to put a cheaper oil in the car run it for a few miles then do another oil change to see if I can clean it out. Thoughts?

Depends, is it just the actuator or the entire unit? Either way, cam cover is off, so you are into it for some time.... Are you doing the work, or is a shop? Do you want to risk the time to do it again?

As we offer warranty on this sort of repair, we are replacing. End of story.

Cheers

Do it all when it is apart.
