Timing idler gears
I am making progress assembling my motor and ran across this. Before I button up the timing chains can someone weigh in on this sloppiness of the idlers? Am I missing something here? I have updated idlers that do not require the old spacer, but there is this gap now. Am I to assume that these will just center under tension and fall into place? Just wanting to be sure before I seal this up.

There is nothing missing that’s so there is some centering of the chain available.

The cover will restrict movement .. but you do want the adjuster shaft to be central on the adjuster foot.

From memory I had to machine a little off the face of the tensioner to ensure they aligned correctly .. which is when the tensioner is all the way in on the shaft. |
