My problem was mainly with the port size mismatch and having air bounce off the lip created by using ITBs with 43mm ports on 39mm intake port heads.
The problem with the ITB setup asked about is the combination of ITB size and port size on a 3.2SS engine. 50mm/43mm is just too big for a 3.2 street engine.
Also, My 3.746L race engine that makes 450 HP and revs to 8,000 RPM uses Xtreme heads with 52.8mm intake valves and 45mm intake ports. There is no way a 3.2L 7000 RPM street engine should be using 53mm intake valves. Nope. That makes no sense at all. With those intake valves you need 1 3/4" headers to match them. Again, that makes no sense at all. All that does is slow down airflow into the engine and destroys low-end to mid-range torque.
