Cheap oil pumps
Has anyone tried one of these new cheap (~$150) oil pumps that are on eBay?
Looks like they copied a four rib version. Only interested in firsthand experience. |

It would be interesting to see how one measures up. An oil pump is a critical component of an engine, but also a pretty simple device at its basis. Measurements of the components would be one thing, and testing the hardness of the gears and shafts would be another.

giving how critical an oil pump is, and where its located, its so hard to find someone welling to take the risk trying a knock-off oil pump. This is a precision made part and needs certain amount of metal hardening process.

Send your oil pump to Glenn Yee and have it properly remanufactured.
