Bosch vacuum canister ID
Supertec is in the process of reconditioning a large number of Bosch distributors for 911/930 Porsche.
I am looking for any information pertaining to vacuum canisters. What I need is a chart or individual canister numbers located on the arm of the canister with their corresponding application.. They are generally 3 or 4 digits. I will be more than happy to share any information we accumulate with the Pelican community.

Vac pod cross # chart
Hi Henry, I have posted pics of my Dizzy stash on Pelican but i dont think i ever showed my old Sun Dizzy machine. Back in the day (35-40 years ago) i had put together the exact chart you are looking for that showed the crossover from the Bosch # to the Porsche # on the pods.
Unfortunately the chart was partially damaged when hurricane Wilma took the roof off my shop in 2005 but i was able to salvage a few #'s from the rain soaked chart and have held on to them ever since (pac rat/hoarder). Here is what i have at this time and when i get a chance i will get a few more off the dizzys in my stash. Bosch # 1 237 122 057 short # on the pull rod 2057 - Porsche # 930 602 914 00 This pod fits all 78-82 Euro spec 930 with a single port pod. Bosch # 1 237 122 035 short #2035 -Porsche # 930 602 910 00 This pod fits all 78-79 US and Euro spec SC with a single port pod and also 1980 Euro 930/09 SC with single port pod. Bosch # 1 237 121 607 short # 607 - Porsche # 911 602 932 00 This pod fits all 73-77 US and Euro spec 2.7 except for carrera, but also fits all 75-77 3.0 carrera Bosch # 1 231 121 707 short # 707 - Porsche # 930 602 903 00 This pod fits all US and Euro spec 75-77 3.0 930 turbo. The 2057 and the 707 can be interchanged but due to the rotational differences (CW versus CCW) the vac. port will be upside down facing the rear tin. All 80-83 US spec SC use a 930 602 915 01 All 81-83 Euro spec SC use a 930 602 933 00 All 83-89 US and euro Spec 930 use a 930 602 917 00 The last 3 Porsche #'s the chart is damaged and the Bosch # is not legible. I have the Bosch short # for the us spec SC and the 930's on vac pods in my stash that i will get when i have a chance. I do not have a 81-83 Euro vac. pod or Dizzy so i will do some research and see if i can find the short #, again when i have time. I hope this info helps you out. Richard Danvers ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Over the years I've had three Sun distributor machines. I keep selling them and another one appears. It's almost like rodents.....my shop attracts tools.

So a couple more Henry,
Porsche # - 930 602 915 00 - Bosch # - 1 237 122 713 short # 2713 This fits 78-79 US spec 930 with dual port pod. IIRC these units are vacuum retard on the top port and boost retard on the lower port and would be found on cars with thermal reactors. Porsche # - 930 602 915 01 - Bosch # 1 237 122 763 short # 2763 This fits all 80-83 US spec SC and is a dual port pod with vacuum advance on the top and vacuum retard on the bottom. No luck with the 81-83 euro #'s so if anyone out there has a 930/10 motor and you have the dizzy out for any reason please remove the vacuum pod and post the 4 digit # here. Richard ![]() ![]() |

I have a 81 turbo with the original distributor. I can easily pull the dizzy and provide the #s if needed

Anyone have or know where to get the specs on the following canisters? Particularly the amount of retard (5*?) and the amount of vacuum needed to get it?

FWIW, I just bought this one that they say covers all 73.5-77. https://www.rauchandspiegel.com/product/ignition-distributor-vacuum-unit/
According to R&S: It appears to us that all of the early (73.5 - 77) CIS cars resolve to Vac. Unit 911.602.932.00 (our p/n # 262.932) through supersessions. Nominal specs are: -5* at 120 Torr at distributor (-10* at crankshaft at 120 Torr.). They have a different ones for 911SCs. |
