911 Engine Case work
We are doing more and more of this work so I have decided to offer this service.
We are not a production machine shop. We are a race and prototype engine shop that performs almost all of its own machine work. We are offering to do more case work but we will limit the work to a max of 4-5 cases per month. Once and if we receive 4-5 case customers we will not accept anymore until these cases are completed and returned. What may limit this will be the cost to do this work. I will not list here the costs but happy to reply to email with costs. The more labor completed by the customer the better and the less the cost. We would prefer to accept cases clean, with all studs including Head studs, removed. We need the through bolts and the #7 stud along with the nuts and washers. These we will clean and inspect. All 8.00mm and 6.00m studs will be replaced with new. Unless there is a good reason to narrow the case we typically bore O/S as the bearings are becoming more available. We are having bearings made now that will help too. Line Bore, Head stud Inserts, Decks surfaced, Through bolt platforms surfaced, Cylinder bores machined O/S, O ring grooves added, can all be performed. This may be a service that some would consider based on quicker turnaround times. I will endeavor to turn this work around in 2 weeks max. after receiving the case. Added work may take a little longer. There are other places that do this work and do it well. We are offering an alternative that may lower the wait times. |
