Engine Builders Recommendations
Would anyone have a recommendation of Engine Builders in the Ohio Area. Looking to rebuild a 2.7 1974 CIS.

Here's a few folks to give a ring up here around Cleveland. ...not much of a trek, assuming you're from Boardman. I have experience with both Steinels and Autobauhn, though it's been a loooong time ago as I do all my own work now.
https://kraftwerksperformance.com/ Was look'n for someone with Porsche Aircooled tuning experience and stumbled by these guys. Talked to owner Jeff and seemed like knowledgeable guy. https://steinels.com/ Owner Eric Steinel sold the shop a while ago. https://www.facebook.com/autobahnextreme/ Owner Chris Moore is porsche tech for ~30 years Last edited by JoeMag; 09-06-2025 at 01:54 PM.. |

People ship engine from all around the world to experience the expertise offered by Supertec Performance. If you have a way to remove your engine or have it removed for you, Supertec has 40+ years of air-cooled engine rebuilding under their belt.
You'll find their reputation is stellar, their pricing is realistic and their turnaround time is almost unheard of. www.supertecperformance.com Caveat: I have had 4 engines built by Supertec reaching back over 20 years.

+1 for henry at supertec. I'm on my 4th engine with him ( all different cars ) his builds are top notch with an unrevivable amount of knowledge. I even had peter Dawe ask what engine I was running at a race before!
