The difference is I’m out 25k if someone starts over. Not many shops will take on work from someone else without removing the engine, measuring the parts, ect.

Call Henry at Supertec.
Air-cooled 911 engines is all they do. He will ship it to you ready to install.
He knows what he's doing and basket cases don't frighten him/them. You might find that the shipping will take longer than the assembly. They do all machine work in-house.

I second the thought on engaging with Henry. Can you afford to float his shop, risk getting your car frozen somewhere if he is foreclosed upon or his shop ceased? Or a repeat of what has already happened. Einstein’s quote, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting different results.”
