Possible 912e Engine rebuild

Hello everyone I know this is the 911 section but I am hoping to get a bit of help with my 912e.

Its been a short time since I have joined the 912e world but I believe I am already heading into a full engine rebuild. I bought the car back in late October off of BAT, the car certainly needed some love but was overall healthy. Spent the winter fixing all the little issues, vacuum leaks, oil leaks, replacing old and worn everything. Since spring it has really turned into my daily driver putting over 1k miles on it without it missing a beat. This weekend I took it out on Saturday evening with my wife to get dinner everything was good, engine pulled hard getting on the highway. Sunday morning heading to a C&C event, cruising down the highway at 65ish the car hiccup'd is the best way I can describe it. happened at the top of a big hill so off gas but in gear when I got to the bottom of the hill and hit the gas it sounded like marbles in a blender.

Stopped the car and waited for AAA.

After getting it home pulled the plugs and #2 looked crushed. The motor sounds real rough. I have yet to drain the oil and cut open the filter to see what I can find in there.

Going to start calling around to know shops in the southeast. If anyone has a recommendations for a shop would love to hear it.

Yikes!

Not sure where you are, but JP Werks in Kansas City has been doing quite a few type 4 engines. Give them a shout!
