3.2L case perimeter studs- cannot find a source

After much searching (Porsche OEM, McMaster-Carr, internet, all other vendors) I cannot find a source for the M8 studs around the perimeter of my 3.2 case. Our host says not available, and McMaster and others do not have studs that match the original dimensions- what are you guys using for replacement studs? If I am reading the Porsche Catalogue correctly, these are "M8 x 32" PN 999 062 115 02. Not sure what the 32 is referring to- no part (or any combination) of the stud dimensions equals 32mm. My Measurements: short threaded end: 16.5mm Long threaded end: 23.5mm unthreaded shank: 8.5mm Overall length: approx 48.5mm (Some of my studs have enough corrosion that I would rather not clean them up and re-plate) Any help appreciated! Thanks, Dave

My go-to is usually stoddard or belmetric. I’ve ordered a lot of stuffs lately from stoddard and they have about 75% of what I need. Not great but it’s better than nothing.

Porsche use to identify stud length by what’s showing, so the part threaded in to the case is not counted. Don’t know it it’s still that way.

Global Metrics is a good source.

See below for info on studs. Bel metric is a good source for DIN 835 studs. I’ve also been able to source studs from our host and rosepassion.com. Quote:

Thank you! I had tried Bellmetric before I posted this thread, but apparently I didn’t select all of the correct variables - I went back with the measurements that draw provided, and there were the studs- for $1.70 in yellow cad. Rose passion is a nice site too- it’s too bad they are across the ocean from me. Describing a stud according to it’s Installed height is something I haven’t seen before. Global Metrics doesn’t appear to have a website, but I can call them. | ||

Rose passion will get parts to you just as fast as states based companies. I use DHL for shipping.
